PREM GURSAHANI has been associated with banking
industry for the past 39 years. Having worked in various positions in
one of the largest banks in India for 23 years, he has been providing
consultancy services to the banking industry since last 16 years. Now,
for the past 7 years, he has also diversified into software
development and has been actively engaged in providing innovative
cost-saving IT solutions to the banking industry, particularly in
those areas where no other IT vendors have dared to venture.

Prem has handled very complex consultancy
assignments from the banking regulator like Reserve Bank of India,
and other banks like HDFC Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Union Bank of
India, Axis Bank (formerly UTI Bank), Times Bank, Centurion Bank of
Punjab, Corporation Bank, and Oman International Bank.

Prem's achievements include compilation of
Master Circulars for Reserve Bank of India, the most unique and
almost impossible exercise initiated for the first time in the history
of Indian Banking, under the leadership of Dr. Y. V. Reddy, Governor,
Reserve Bank of India.

Even before the onset of Basel II in the Indian
Banking Industry, Prem had a foresight almost a decade ago, when he developed
function-wise Compliance Manuals for the banking industry, and
since last 7 years, he has articulated these Manuals into
software-based solution to facilitate daily updating. Today, banking
regulator has made it mandatory for banks in India to develop
function-wise compliance Manuals.

His latest software innovation viz. Compliance
Monitoring System (CMS+) is yet another classic marriage of
banking knowledge, IT and the foresight. Banks in India have now been
mandated to monitor compliance. CMS+ will help banks to monitor
regulatory & statutory compliance at several thousands of branches
at negligible cost, and with least manpower.

Prem holds a Bachelor of Commerce with Honors along
with Diploma in Systems Management from JBIMS (Mumbai University),
CAIIB and several other certificates in computers & other allied
courses.
